Honestly, I didn’t like what I was seeing. I wasn’t happy at all, and it brought to mind various thoughts. I was staring at my face in the mirror, wondering what had gone wrong. Where did I miss it? How could a face that looked so normal suddenly break out beyond what I could ever imagine? This was a thought I had during a period of my life when my face broke out seriously. I couldn’t understand what went wrong. It was a season filled with frustration and fear. It was a season I didn’t want to experience again for life. Many times, we experience certain moments, moments that we want to cling to. Seasons that we truly enjoy and we never want those seasons to end. And sometimes we also go through seasons of rough patches, seasons we detest and regret. We must first realize as humans, that the way we are created by God is too live in seasons. As humans created by God, we have been given specific seasons to experience. According to Ecclesiastes, some seasons are enjoyable, while others are not. In my case, when my face was smooth and free of pimples, I enjoyed it, but when it wasn’t, I did not enjoy it. At times, when we realize that life unfolds in seasons, we really wish it didn’t. Nonetheless, there are certain situations we find ourselves in and we are grateful that life does have seasons because it gives us hope. Hope that this will surely pass. For example, imagine being stuck with the dry season all year long; someone like me would have to relocate. I wouldn’t mind riding on the wings of an eagle as a means of transportation. Because I don’t really like dry season, thank God that rainy season exist. Living in seasons gives us hope that our unpleasant seasons will not be permanent. Regarding my face, at that time I was glad that it was a season that will pass too, and it definitely passed. The good news is that there are no wasted seasons, just like the different seasons of the year. For example, the harmattan and the rainy season each serve their purpose. The rainy season allows for harvesting and provides a cool atmosphere. The hot season is for planting, helps you wash clothes and dry them easily, and so on. Perhaps you are like me, standing in front of the mirror of a particular season in your life, and you don’t like what you see, feel, or hear. I want you to know and believe that it is a season that will soon pass and that it serves a purpose. You may not like the hot season, but it helps your clothes dry faster. So, even if you don’t like that season, it is not wasted. I also want you to understand that this season you are facing is preparing you for the next one. Just as how farmers sow during the rainy season awaiting the next season to harvest. They can hope for the harvest season because they have experienced the season of sowing. Therefore, instead of complaining and feeling devastated by this not-so-good season, let’s embrace it and learn from it. Let’s allow it to work in us all it needs to as we prepare for the next season. Relationship and life talk is free today.
