John 3:16-21 (NKJV) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil. Everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God."

God so loved the world (This is unconditional Agape love), that he gave his only begotten son so that whoever believes in him will not perish. This is a major conditional statement that requires you to decide. As usual, the Bible makes it clear what happens if you choose wrong. That is why I usually include the whole passage rather than just John 3:16 because many unbelievers claim this scripture means that no one is lost. If any man will come after me If there first be a willing mind If my people who are called by my name. I think you get the point. You cannot have lazy faith. It has to be active, involved, breathing, and excited!

Matthew 16:24 (KJV) Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

2 Corinthians 8:12 (KJV) For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
