10 After waiting another seven days, Noah released the dove again.
12 He waited another seven days and then released the dove again. This time it did not come back. Genesis 8:10, 12
Noah waited for the dove following a set time. At first I thought "how does this apply to my life?" I know I am not facing any floods because I live in the desert. I am not waiting on water to retreat either. Yet, even as I wrote the question, I recognized that the dove represents Holy Spirit.
When I have been through a storm, I need to wait on Holy Spirit. When things don't seem to pass quickly enough, I need to wait on Holy Spirit. Until He rests, I need to wait on Him.
Sometimes it may feel like I am trapped in a boat, or situation as I am waiting for the storm to pass. It can feel confining to wait on Holy Spirit far everything to settle after the storm is over for Him to release us. When I wait on Holy Spirit though, the circumstances will be right for me to proceed.
Lord, I know I am still learning to wait on You. Help me to know when I need to test the waters to see if it is You time and to know when to step out of the boat!
