Declare God's Calmness in You

Dean Burnetti

May 28

Psalms 3:3‭-‬5 – But you, O Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. I cried out to the Lord, and He answered me from His holy mountain. I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the Lord was watching over me.

On Memorial Day, my wife and I spent the holiday relaxing on the lake. It was a great day.

There is nothing like floating on a tube in the center of a calm, clear lake.
After a short time floating on my water noodle, I almost lost track of the worries of the week behind and the week to come. I found myself wondering if this is what heaven will be like. Complete peace, absent any resemblance of anxiety.

I pray for each of you today that, even for an hour, you will find God's peace and tranquility. But likewise, embrace that this peace has come with a price. A price paid by brave men and women on the battlefield, as well as a Savior who can alone bring perfect peace.

Stay healthy and have a blessed Memorial Day!
