Acts 1: 16 -17 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus. For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.

Judas gave up his calling with Jesus as a disciple because he was offended when Jesus rebuked him over money when someone anointed Jesus with costly ointment. He felt justified in going for thirty pieces of silver and he got it. But think of what he lost! The opportunity to be in the first batch to be filled with the Holy Spirit; the opportunity to be credited with taking the gospel to a major part of the world…something that even doubting Thomas was able to enjoy since he is credited with taking the gospel to India; or, the most astounding one, to have his name carved in the foundations of a city that will last forever!

Rev 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

The scripture needed to be fulfilled, someone had to do the deed but no one's name was specified in the scripture…Judas volunteered…because he was offended.

Before you act out in the flesh again, next time you're offended, think about what you might lose. Remember, no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man what God has in store for them that love him.
