God is in it Rueben loses his parents when their house burns and he is trying to carry on with 2 younger siblings. Mary lives on the property next door and sees his struggles so she steps in to help. A few weeks later Rueben's intended shows up and throws a fit over Mary spending so much time with him, but it just doesn't seem like her dedication extends to him and his family, so pretty soon Rebecca takes off and tries to cause trouble. The only problem is that Rueben and his siblings have been staying with the bishop and he saw the whole thing. The buggy full of daisies was a unique gesture for Rueben that touched Mary's heart.

Mary King lives with her widowed father in Amish Pennsylvania. Mary thinks she is happy and content keeping house for her father but when she spots handsome, blue-eyed Reuben Lehman at the local Amish market, her head is turned. He is all that she finds attractive in a man, especially when he stops to spend the time of day with her.

Unfortunately, Rueben does not see Mary's deeper, lovable qualities. Reuben only sees the superficial surface of someone before deciding whether he is interested in them or not.

Disaster strikes when Reuben and his two younger siblings, Sarah and Samuel, suffer the loss of their parents in the most devastating of ways.

Reuben is left to try and support his siblings while dealing with his grief and the loss of their family home.

Can Mary's empathetic and compassionate nature help guide Reuben toward salvation, and in doing so help his sister and brother understand that there is a life to be lived following their overwhelming sorrow?
