Psalms 145:21 – I will praise the Lord, and may everyone on earth bless his holy name forever and ever.
As I grow older, I am absolutely convinced of a basic and foundational truth. There is power in the praise of Jesus's name.
I remember while I was in law school, preparing for a test before Professor Young, one of my mentors in my corporations class. After having spent the evening preparing, it was approximately 2 a.m. in the morning. I knew I probably should climb in bed. But instead, I went into the living room and turned on some praise and worship music. There I stood in the living room with my arms outstretched and spent time praising God and thanking Him for all that He had done for me in my life.

Although I was no more prepared than any other student, I felt an overwhelming peace and comfort during the exam. All that God had done in my life gave me a deep sense of thankfulness.
A few days later, the professor announced that there was only one perfect score on the test. He called my name aloud in front of the class. I felt embarrassed but also overwhelmed with joy that God had been so good to me.
I don't know how, and I don't know exactly the dynamics, but I do know this: that in your deepest and darkest moments as well as every day, there is supernatural power that arises from praising God. There is strength in worshipping His name. Power that goes beyond the depths of your experiences.
Today, praise His holy name and know that He is the King of kings.
Stay healthy and have a blessed day!
