On Thursday, November 9, 2023 about 4:00am, Officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department (C.I.D.) in Castries, received a report of a Burglary at Courts, located on Chaussee Road, Castries.
During the initial phase of the investigations, five persons were arrested and charged. Warrants of Arrest in the First Instance for the offence of Handling Stolen Goods were issued for the following persons:
- Jahvis Alfred of Wilton's Yard, Castries.
- Mandel Lionel alias "Pampo" of Wilton's Yard, Castries.
- One 'Sal' of Wilton's Yard, Castries.
- Zilpah Mitchell of Wilton's Yard, Castries (a Warrant of Arrest in the First instance was also issued for Possession of Firearm).
- Abyssin John of Wilton's Yard, Castries (a Warrant of Arrest in the First instance was also issued for Possession of Firearm).
On Thursday, January 18, 2024, Abyssin John reported himself to the Criminal Investigations Department in Castries. He was arrested and charged for the offences of Handling Stolen Goods and Possession of Firearm.
Abyssin John was escorted to the First District Court in Castries, where bail was granted with the following requirements:
- Possession of Firearm: Twenty-thousand dollars (XCD20000.00) cash, suitable surety or land documents.
- Handling Stolen Goods: Three thousand dollars (XCD3000.00) cash, suitable surety or land documents.
