Bloganuary Prompt: "If you could un-invent something, what would it be?"
If I could un-invent one thing, it would have to be nuclear weapons. I was going to say "war" or "guns" or "middles" or evil…but those seem to … imaginary … like not possible…
But No Nukes …? I can behind that.
For all of human history we've fought and killed each other, many times en masse — we've witnessed thousands and tens of thousands of conflicts right up to today — but nuclear weapons are different.
The first and only (so far) use of nuclear weapons killed more than 200,000 people in two days mostly civilians.
Since then countless billions upon billions of dollars have been spent to make and maintain nuclear arsenals.
If those technologies didn't exist, the brain power and fiscal resources dedicated to nuclear weapons could be used for far greater, more productive ends.
