The year has kicked off and unexpected bills have come our way due to water damage. Torrential rains back to back have caused us some issues that hopefully have been dealt with. Can you say water mitigation and sump pumps?
This is our second losing bout with water damage with a previous house having such experience. Water will find a way to leak where you do not want it. Getting it out is harder than it getting in.
On the political front, I saw a political ad that I wish I had not. A former minister who was caught cheating in a previous election (even his own son testified he cheated) is running again. The offending commercial showed said candidate using a picture of himself with the adjudicated fraud/ defamation and alleged seditious leading Republican presidential candidate. Neither candidate is known for their veracity.
Speaking of adjudication, the former president finds himself again in court for his second trial for alleged defamation of E. Jean Carroll. After being held liable of defamation and sexual misconduct, he proceeded to defame her again on national TV. She sued him again and will likely add to her $5 million award from the court. Amusingly, Mr. Trump cannot keep quiet in court and even the jury and judge are hearing his continuing ramblings. The judge threatened to kick him out of the court room.
We should learn soon the amount of his penalty for his latest corporate fraud trial. This the one where he vastly overreportef his assets to get more favorable lending terms. His followers are saying this is not really a crime, which shows how rationalizing will make you perfume any pig.
Then, there are the four trials and 91 other charges he faces. Yet, this candidate has convinced his followers he has done nothing wrong. Well, he will have to keep explaining as the verdicts and fines pile up. So, will others like Fox News and various attorneys and insurrectionists who continue to lose or settle court cases because of Trump. He is like water - he will always find a way in to do damage.
