There comes a time when we heed a certain call
When the world must come together as one
By the end of the night, Diana Ross was in tears. So was I.
Together with forty-five other amazing and iconic musical artists, Diana had just recorded We Are The World. In just one night. When they were finished, Diana wept because she didn't want it to be over. The pure magic of that night in 1985 shines through the documentary video just released on Netflix, The Greatest Night In Pop.
I was in tears from the beauty and power of the message. Tears of joy. Tears of longing for that message to be more present in our current collective consciousness. Where is the music, where are the voices that can bring us together, that can bring us back to the power and possibility of love in the world?

Well, send'em you your heart
So they know that someone cares
And their lives will be stronger and free
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me
It was almost forty years ago and many of the artists are no longer with us. But the legacy they leave is powerful. A legacy of giving voice to love and hope. A legacy for us to embrace and embody. No, most of us are not singers. But we have many ways to make our voices heard. And the world needs those voices more than ever, needs us to come together as one.
The world needs our harmonies of love.
Beannacht,
Judith
