One of the things I've done for myself in the past few weeks is change what I eat. More specifically, I've just changed what I have for breakfast. I basically looked at a few nutrition resources, got a feel for what I could and couldn't do, then decided on something easy I could make for myself every morning.
I want - and need - to expand my healthy choices to lunch as well. It won't be easy, since I don't control what groceries are bought at my house. But since I've seen some progress with just changing my breakfast, I think I feel confident enough to expand my health horizons.
Sadly, there are a lot of options and advice out there. I think this might be one reason why I haven't been moving too quickly to change up what I eat. I feel like it's easy to make more bad decisions than good decisions. However, that's not a good reason for continuing to make less than ideal food choices for myself.
Another issue I'm running into is that I need some sort of diversity for lunch. As of right now, I'm able to have the same thing for breakfast because I like it and it's easy to make. It's when I get to the middle of the day that I find myself wanting different things. So whenever I do get to moving on this, I should try to have several different things to choose from.
I hope it will work out. But if it doesn't work at first, I need to not be discouraged. It took a while for me to make unhealthy decisions. It will take another while for me to find and make healthy ones.
