I am shocked at times, when I realize what has been taught as biblical truth. It seems that far too many people would rather be spoon fed the ideas of another, than actually study the word of God for themselves. Once saved always save is one such "truth" that is not the truth at all. Just one Scripture, Luke 8:13 pokes a big hole in that idea. It says, "Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away." If once saved always saved is true, how is it that Jesus taught a believer can "fall away" from the faith? Either Jesus is wrong, or that teaching is incorrect. Anyone who loves the word of God, has to know something is amiss.
For me, balanced research of the Word of God will always be superior to any doctrine, or teaching, put forth by man. This is why Psalms 119:160 says, "The sum of Your word is truth,...". It does NOT say "some of your word is truth,". Everything you have been taught that is genuine truth, must agree with all of God's word, not just the part that agrees with what you have been taught. Dig into the Bible for yourself. Discover the whole truth about what you should believe, not just the part you have been told! Uncover the truth about tongues, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, pentecostal living , water baptism, salvation, Heaven, sin, holiness, immoral living, and hell. It will change you life for the better.
Today's Word: There is so much more than what you have been told. Dig into your Bible and ask the Holy Spirit to show you His truths. You might be amazed at what you learn.
