Bummer about the recent submarine tragedy near the Titanic wreck. (This is NOT a photo of that sub. ) I found it curious that there was so much "eat the rich" commentary going on. Something that I wish people would keep in mind is the saying, "wealth buys a lot of insulation." That means that rather then being "privileged," those who have a lot of money tend to be more sheltered from objective reality and it's consequences. That's not necessarily a good thing, it's kind of a fantasy world that doesn't always bode well for our survival in the real world
Like it or not, that includes a great many of us blessed to live in this country. We are also the "insulated wealthy." Every year I grieve over people in kayaks and on hikes who come here and never get to go home because they underestimated mother nature and over estimated themselves. That can even happen to people who have a lot of experience, so pay attention y'all.
Which brings me to the Hunter Biden "wretched people" part of my post, the Coast Guard must have known on day one that the sub just exploded (or collapsed) if you prefer. I knew it and I'm nobody! C'mon people, this is not Hollywood. The media tried to bring us this weird fiction tale that implied these poor saps were slowly sinking running out of oxygen day after day. What a cruel and somewhat ridiculous diversion from the Hunter Biden revelations! One moment he is actually in the "news," facing criminal charges, and the next moment we're all glued to the TV anxious for news about a missing submersible. "Cruel" because those men had families and somebody deliberately lied, somebody tried to sell them (and the whole nation) false hope.
As to Hunter Biden, I've known a lot of addicts who are self centered, thoughtless, hurtful, and do awful things. Just the same, addiction is not an excuse or even an explanation for why someone might just be a wretched person. I'm getting really fed up hearing about how this "young man" is just a hapless victim of his addiction. He is 53 years old for crying out loud! Privileged, pampered, protected, and just wretched. I'm rather annoyed that I've had to endure actual tax audits in my lifetime while this lunkhead was just busy writing off visits to strip clubs, call girls, and probably his cocaine habit.
Will he ever suffer any legal consequences? Will the story ever see the light of day in the media again?
Which brings me to Russia. I have absolutely no idea what is going on with Russia on account of the fact that we have no useful media. I mean, it's obvious we are being fed a bunch of bovine poo and propaganda, but as to what is really going on, I haven't got a clue. I do know that we are being led by complete idiots who seem to believe that having a major world superpower experience some unrest and internal chaos is a good thing. Instability is never a good thing! It doesn't make a country weaker, it makes them far more dangerous. You would think the US would start to pick up on this truth since it seems to have been a significant part of our foreign policy disasters for decades now.
I continue to lament and grieve about how disconnected from reality, from mother nature, and from God, much of the population really is today. Our own chaos, our own instability makes for a lot of uncertainty.
