Andrew is an educator with more than 15 years of experience building, facilitating and leading technology education initiatives for learners across Canada. About Andrew's talk

Tell us about the talk that you are planning to give at DevRelCon London 2023

I come to the world of Developer Advocacy and Developer Relations from the world of teaching and education. So, I'm really excited to connect at DevRelCon London 2023 with all of those educators out there, be they formally trained educators, or folks who do training and education as part of their lives. I can't wait to talk a little bit about some of the similarities between these two roles, and how you can use the skills you have as an educator to really level up your Developer Advocacy skills.

Why should people attend your talk? What should they expect to take away from it?

I think everybody out there is in some way an educator, whether in a formal way or informal way, just teaching people about things. So much of our role in DevRel is educating, and building relationships and connections with people. I want to give folks some tangible examples of exactly how those kinds of educational skills can be really helpful in the world of Developer Advocacy. My aim is to really help people understand that their skills from a lot of different places can really apply, and help them become even better Developer Advocates.

What are you most looking forward to at this year's DevRelCon London event?

Developer Relations is such an amazing, amazing field, filled with so many spectacular advocates and DevRel managers out there. There are so many people that are willing to share their wealth of knowledge and invite you into this community. Come, take part, learn , explore, build connections, find out ways that you can become an even better Developer Advocate, and expand your repertoire in the world of Developer Relations.
