Not Okay is a 2022 American satirical dark comedy-drama. It was released on Hulu on July 29th. This movie tells the story of Danni Sanders (Zoey Deutch) an upcoming writer that works for an Online magazine. Danni struggles to make friends and she is also struggling at work. So Danni decides to lie about being invited to a writer's retreat in Paris just to impress people especially Colin ( She stays at home but she uploads edited pictures of herself in Paris on social media. She attracts the attention she wanted and even gains followers including Colin.

One day she posted another picture of her in Paris but a few minutes later various landmarks and tourist attractions in Paris were bombed by a terrorist group. Danni's phone begin to blow up with people trying to find out if she was alright and safe. She saw all the attention she was getting and she liked it also she was in too deep in her lie that she did not know how to come clean. So she continued to pretend and make everyone believe that she was a victim of a terrorist attack. After a while, the truth eventually came out and Danni became the most hated person on the internet.
Great performances and some incisive comments drive this parody on social media stardom and superficiality. The nine "sections" of Not Okay follow the "arc" of the main character from nobody to a famous (false) victim to villain. White privilege is used to justify Danni's complete ignorance of what it really means to be a victim, traumatized, or even "a nice person," but this movie is really more of a satire on the social media culture of the day.
