After losing this match, South Africa was out of the T 20 World Cup If Pakistan or Bangladesh won the match.
Earlier, South Africa won the toss and chose to bowl first thus the Netherlands first batted and made a good score of 158/4 in 20 overs due to good batting by Colin Ackermann 41* (26), Stephan Myburgh 37 (30), and Tom Cooper 35 (19). Keshav Maharaj 2/27 (4), Anrich Nortje 1/10 (4), and Aiden Markram 1/16 (2) were good bowling from the South African side. After this inning, the Netherlands set a good target of 159 runs in 20 overs for South Africa to win this match.
