Taking a moment to thank God that I am walking away from a serious scooter accident that could have been worst. Thank you Guardian Angel too for protecting me from further injury.
Thankfully no broken bones. I got bumps and bruises, ripped up my shirt, scuffed my boots, inner lip is busted that you can see the blood splatter on the inside of my helmet, the left shoulder and arm and hips are sore with some scratches. The moto helmet saved my head and neck from serious injury. The moto gloves saved my hands and wrists from further injury. Worth it, though the helmet and gloves cost $$$.
The scooter needs some repairs and replacement parts. Reminding me that its an amazing tool that gets me from here to there and back again. I am emotionally detached from the object. I love my scooter and am grateful to be able to afford one that takes me up and down steep hills, going long range and cost $$$.
No bueno being taken out by an ebiker crashing into me while I was trying to pass him on his left steering me into the curve, crowding me then fell hard on me.
As Mav says, it's going to be OK. I am gonna master being a savvy city commuter on the bike or scooter. Mav is my role model for navigating NYC's crazy traffic, commuters on bike, scooter and pedestrians.
Back to what to the cost of things, it is worth it for me to invest in quality. I've always been this way, willing to pay more for quality and excellence. What is your life, your well being worth to you? Invaluable. I love that I can move and do things with vitality and free of pain.
