Long before Donald Trump was in office, one side of the aisle stopped talking to the other side.   Somewhere between George W and Obama, someone decided that they shouldn't talk to other side.Obama offered lunch, no one showed. However, there are still a few men who remember, arguing on the floor and having lunch or dinner with the opposition. Its rare in this political climate, but there is some civility in the Capital amongst some of the older players in the House and the Senate.

SIR PRIZE

Cassidy Hutchinson

Last weekend the Jan 6th committee announced there would be a meeting on Tuesday, after announcing there would be a two week break. The hype on cable news suggested this meeting had to be something BIG.

25 year old Cassidy Hutchinson was a top aide in Trumps administration working with Mark Meadows, the White House Chief of Staff.

He account of Jan 6th was superb, so detailed by the next day, people in the media was calling her testimony historic, flawless. Comparisons to Watergate and John Dean's testimony were common, John Dean's revelations led to the resignation of Nixon, and his own imprisonment, as well as the incarceration of other top aides.

John Dean says her testimony more accurately resembled testimony by Alexander Butterfield, who revealed the White House taping system's existence. Until that moment a relatively obscure deputy assistant. "In both cases they were surprise witnesses and had testimony that changed the direction of the hearings.

Her poise, maturity has silence many critics who have criticized the Democrat's of failing to ask the right questions.

Critics say, the questioning isn't complete, the questions asked by the Democrats are intended to indite the former President. Some believe the cross examining performed by the committee in insufficient.

Hello "Kevin"

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, had the option to appoint 5 people to the committee. Initially, he recommended Jim Banks from Indiana, Jim Jordan from Ohio, Rodney Davis from Illinois, Kelly Armstrong from North Dakota and Troy Nehls from Texas.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Banks, Jordan and Nehls, voted to overturn the Electoral Collage results in Arizona and Pennsylvania.

Pelosi rejected Jordon and Banks, citing concerns for the investigation's integrity and relevant actions and statements made by the two members. She approved the recommendations of the other three. McCarthy then pulled all of his picks for the committee and stated that he would not appoint anyone on the committee unless all five of his choices were approved.

Former President Trump in an interview with conservative radio host Wayne Allyn Root, said it "was a bad decision not to have representation on that committee."

It was a mistake for Republicans to not be more involved in the committee investigating January 6, 2021. He said: "That was a very, very foolish decision."

Trump continued, saying that the committee tried to "pretend that they're legit" but that it's "just a one-sided witch hunt."

More to Come
