Liz Cheney is a member of Congress representing Wyoming's at large congressional district. Elected in 2017, she chaired the House Republican Conference, the third-highest position in the House Republican leadership, from 2019 to 2021.

On Jan 13th 2021. Liz Cheney, was one of nine Republicans, Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, Anthony Gonzalaz of Ohio, David Valadao of, California, Tom Rice of South Carolina, Dan Newhouse of Washington, John Katko of New York, Fred Upton of Michigan, Peter Meijer of Michigan and Jamie Herrera Beutlen of Washington who supported the second impeachment of Donald Trump for his role in the 2021 storming of the US Capitol.

Her opposition to the stolen election made her one of Trump prime targets, he insisted she be stripped of her leadership position. Against the wind, Cheney fought back, she took to the House Floor to argue her position was in line within the principles of the Republican Party. But the fix was in, she was "David" up against Goliath or the Trump machine. She's facing headwinds in Wyoming as Trump has a person in place to replace her this fall.

Born Elizabeth Lynne Cheney in 1966, to parents Richard (Dick) Cheney and Lynne Cheney. Her dad was the 46th Vice President for 8 years serving under President George W. Bush.

Called a neoconservative, Cheney focus is on national security, support for the U.S. military, a pro-business stance. Like her dad, she has strong foreign policy views, and believes in fiscal and social conservatism

Earlier this year she laid out her conservative credentials in a later interview on Fox News.

"I voted with President Trump 93 percent of the time—more than most Republican members of the House of Representatives,"

"I believe that the policies of the Biden administration are bad for this country, but I also know that this country must go forward on the basis of truth."

She said that Trump had "gone to war with the rule of law."

"If we want to be in a position where we can advocate conservative policies again," she added, "we've got to tell the truth about January 6, and we have to make sure that it never happens again."

"Our responsibility is legislative purpose, to determine what laws we have in place, what additional laws we might need to prevent an attack like that from ever happening again."

"I am a conservative Republican, and the most conservative of conservative principles is reverence for the rule of law."

History will be very kind to Liz Cheney. Unlike most of her male counterparts in the Republican party, she chose country over party.
