There's no question that COVID-19 turned the world on its head. According to the PEW Research Center, half of Americans think their lives will change permanently as a result of the pandemic. You've undoubtedly been impacted by COVID-19 in some way. While this evolution can be scary, it can also serve as an opportunity to enact positive change in your life. Today, Omobola Stephen is happy to provide some tips on how to tackle COVID-related life changes for the better.

Lost your job? Use the opportunity to discover your passion and start a business

Many people became unemployed or underemployed due to the pandemic. If you're among these, use this moment to reassess your career satisfaction. If you weren't happy with your career path, this is the perfect time to become your own boss and learn how to set up a new company. Once you've come up with a business idea, research your target market and competitors. Then write a business plan that details your business structure, marketing and sales plan, and how much funding your startup will require.

Working from home? Upgrade your house to accommodate the change

Many people are continuing to work from home even as the pandemic subsides. If you've switched to remote work permanently, make sure you have adequate office space. If your house is too small to accommodate a workspace, it may be time to move. When buying a house for the first time, preparation is key. Start by checking your credit score, researching what's out there, getting together the paperwork you'll need for a mortgage, and looking up realtors in your area.

Stressed by a to-do list of items that can't wait? Address it as soon as possible

Even in a pandemic, there are certain tasks that shouldn't be put off. Examples include moving houses if your current home is too small, going to regular doctor's appointments, and handling property maintenance tasks like gutter cleaning. Get on top of your to-do list with the help of technology. A to-do list app like OmniFocus or Todoist can help you get organized and stay on top of everything.

Having a baby during the pandemic? Make sure you're prepared with cozy essentials

Having a baby is already stressful enough. Having a baby during a pandemic is even more anxiety-inducing. Take steps to keep your nerves at bay by embracing comfort at every stage of your pregnancy journey. Invest in comfy clothing for new moms like a delivery gown, nursing pajamas, and nursing bra. Other handy items for your hospital bag include maternity tanks, a skin-to-skin wrap top, and maternity midi dresses.

Kids struggling with school? Find innovative ways to get them learning

Many children were forced into homeschooling due to COVID-related health concerns. Unfortunately, online classes can be tough, especially for smaller kids. If your child is struggling with school, look for ways to get them back on track. You might consider hiring a tutor, for instance. You can also look for ways to make learning outside of the classroom more fun—for example, by using educational games.

Worried about COVID pounds? Embrace a healthy diet and exercise routine

As people spent more time at home during the pandemic, they led more sedentary lives. Unfortunately, this can lead to unwanted weight gain. If you're packing some extra pounds post-COVID, seize the opportunity to make healthier life changes. You can do home workouts like push ups and squats without a gym. To enhance your diet, try healthy recipes you can batch and reheat. These crockpot recipes from The Recipe Rebel are a great start.

There's no denying that COVID-19 has changed the world. That doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing. Make the most of changes in your life by following the tips above.
