Mike Coté Sep 9   READ IN APP   After a summer break, I was back on the great Break It Down Show today for another livestream with my friends Pete Turner and Dr. Amber Brittain-Hale. We ran the gamut on topics, covering everything from recent developments in Iran to the state of the overall economy and the growth of novel industries like AI and space. We discussed the success of the economic campaign against the Iranian regime, the re-opening of the Strait of Hormuz, the media’s false portrayal of this war as a lost cause, and the broader geopolitical impacts of these events. We also talked about the Ukraine War, the usefulness (or lack thereof) of diplomacy, and the inability to fully separate each theater of global conflict from one another. On top of all that, we touched on the long-term economic prospects of the US, the promise of the AI and space industries, the astroturfed opposition to data centers, and the need for a change in our short-term cultural mindset. Finally, we talked a bit about the upcoming 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the profundity of the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in Lower Manhattan, and the need to put words into practice and Never Forget the lessons of that terrible day.
