Here's your 3-point game plan.

Most people have kind of already given up on Monday before it even arrives. |
They spend Sunday anticipating what is waiting for them in the morning: |
The overflowing inbox. |
The difficult conversation they’ve been putting off. |
The decision they have been avoiding. |
The obligations that seem to multiply faster than the last one was even completed. |
By Sunday evening…it seems like Monday has already won. |
But, composure doesn’t happen in a reactive state as these things begin falling from the sky, it starts before the pressure even has a chance throw you off. |
Take fifteen minutes today and conduct what I call a Sunday power briefing. |
Ask yourself three simple questions. |
1. What must happen this week? |
Not “What would be nice?” |
Not “the twelve minor tasks creating artificial urgency.” |
But, what is the single most important outcome that would make this week consequential? |
Identify it → Schedule it → Protect it relentlessly. |
2. What am I refusing to carry forward? |
An unresolved resentment I haven’t communicated… |
A distracting obligation… |
Someone else’s expectations… |
A decision you already know you need to make (there are probably a few of these). |
You cannot enter the week powerfully while dragging the emotional debris of the last one behind you. |
Put something down. |
3. Who will I be when pressure arrives? |
Do not wait until the difficult and overwhelming moment to pressure you into a reaction. |
You know it will come at you eventually, so, choose now: |
Will you be rushed and hurried, or remain calculated and measured? |
Will you become defensive, or explore why you’re actually feeling that way? |
Will you react emotionally, or create a conscious space between stimulus and response? |
The calmest person in the room is rarely the person with the fewest problems. In fact, sometimes they’re carrying the most. |
In reality, it’s the person who decided in advance that their problems would not control their presence. |
That is the real purpose of Sunday. |
Not merely to recover from the week behind you… |
To choose the direction of the week ahead. |
Think about it: If you win enough days, you win the week. |
If you win enough weeks, you win the month. |
If you win enough months, you win the year. |
If you win enough years, you win the life. |
Monday does not get the first vote. |
You do. |
