6/23/2026 I love my new office and new colleagues, which will be a huge part of my life here so that's a huge relief and boon to my feelings here. The one thing I was maybe sad about was not liking the nearby parks as much (although we only saw two of them and it's an extremely dry year. Update: we went to the park again but a better area. I liked it a lot although yeah the drought is making the plants look stressed and dry right now. We also got nacho week food for dinner and it was amazing. Could've just gotten one and been enough and split for $10. I've been feeling that old spark again from being back, the old feeling Portland gave. Whimsical. Something I realized was just how much the air feeling nice impacts everything. There are so many establishments with outdoor seating, even with cozy fire features for the rainy season because it just gets chilly but not cold enough to not be outside, and the summer air is so lovely when in the shade. Even today when it got 90 degrees, it felt great in the morning and evening. It doesn't feel hot most of the day, just gets hot briefly. That's very different from NY where sure the parks are beautiful but it doesn't feel nice outside starting in July. Too muggy and hot all day. Here the dry air is so fantastic to be out in. Parks aren't even really needed, just being outside in general is nice. Invite your friends and earn rewards
