It's been months of practice and prayer, but today is the event.
Our son-in-law had asked for prayer long before it began to come together and the Lord has been answering.
His own journey with the Lord began as an adult and he has a tender heart for the lost.
The Lord placed upon him an idea to form a band and put on a free concert.
The concert is an outreach, for he will be sharing his testimony at some point during the evening.
My husband and I have been praying and rejoicing in this opportunity for our daughter and son-in-law, blessed they will be able to use their talents for the Lord.
Since our daughter is the music major, she has been the one to organize and run the band side of things, asking for help and seeking wisdom from those who have more knowledge than she.
God has brought together so many people to support and encourage this entire project, from the members of the band to the lady who designed the poster (for free) to the sound tech to the venue.
It has been amazing!
There have been difficulties along the way, but yesterday's seemed to loam up suddenly.
Smoke.
Everywhere.
Thick and stifling in the higher-than-normal heat.
While remaining close to the air purifier, I was praying for the concert, for all those who have health issues, and for God to change these circumstances.
With every prayer of, "Lord, what about tomorrow?" I instantly felt a response.
Trust Me.
"Yes Lord, I trust You."
Since I was remaining indoors, I don't know when it began, but late afternoon the wind came.
By 5:30 the air was so much improved, I was outside with a mask on and by 6:00, I had taken off the mask.
With the wind, which blew out the smoke, came a refreshingly cooler temperature and it was a pleasure to just stand outside and feel it blow against my skin.
This morning, before the Sun rose, I was outside looking at the sky, smelling the air, and praising God!
It is a beautiful clear day and so far the temperature has been comfortable.
The concert is at 6 tonight and I am expectant.
I'm expecting God to be glorified.
For He is and always has been worthy of all our praise, all our adoration, all our love.
This morning my heart understood the words of a Psalm more deeply.
Psalm 40:3-5 KJV
[3] And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: Many shall see it, and fear, And shall trust in the LORD. [4] Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, And respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. [5] Many, O LORD my God, Are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, And thy thoughts which are to us-ward: They cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered.
Praise God, He is so faithful!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank You for Your Word! Thank You for answering our prayers for the weather. Thank You for putting so many details together continually, that often go unnoticed and unappreciated. Lord, thank You for clear air. Thank You for sustaining us when it was smoky and I know You will sustain us in future issues, for we are just beginning the season of fires. Lord Jesus, thank You for Your wonderful works and Your blessings. Lord, thank You for Your heart which is reaching out to those who have yet to know You. Lord, thank You for using us to share Your truth and Your salvation. Please prepare the hearts of all who will attend tonight and make this a special time of offering and praise before You. Lord, we give You our two mites, do with them as You see fit. For Your name's sake, Lord Jesus. Amen.
