Per Reuters today, "Republican nominee Donald Trump has called (Kamala Harris) 'crazy,' 'nuts' and 'dumb as a rock.' Republicans in Congress disparage her as a diversity hire. Right-wing activists and trolls have smeared her online with racist, sexist and sexualized barbs."
Trump's fans and sycophants are following the example of their candidate. This is not positive leadership. This is not civil debate. This is juvenile name calling. It is also a lazy person's argument wanting people to accept the label without question.
I have shared emails and phone messages with various Senators and Congresspeople and spoken with staff. When their bosses use name calling, I stop listening and reading to them. And, that includes the head of the party. On the flip side, Republican Congressman Richard Hudson told House Republicans to focus on issues not namecalling. Good for him.
Kamala Harris is a fine candidate. Republicans are welcome to take issue with her policy stances, but calling her these playground names belittles the caller and their party. She is an attorney, passed the bar, was a prosecutor, AG, Senator and now VP. Sounds like she knows some pretty smart rocks.
