Mark 10:16 – Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.
Speaking a blessing over another is one of the most powerful things you can do to change another's life. It is the open act of actually speaking a blessing in your prayer over someone.
We often think of this as being directed toward one of our children. But it is not limited to your offspring. Anyone can be a person you can speak a blessing over. It is the power of prayer.
It can be done in silence, but it is also something that needs to be heard by the person that you're blessing. We often think that I can say a blessing quietly as I pray without them hearing. That way I won't be so intrusive and avoid embarrassment.
No doubt, it does take a certain sense of boldness to bless another openly. But the impact of the person receiving God's blessing through you needs to hear. Hearing that blessing openly proclaimed on them creates a sense of confidence and direction. It is encouraging, and yes, there is power in your blessings genuinely brought before God. Your blessings will change the heart and attitude of the person who you speak over.
Today, consider deeply in your prayer time that God would lead you to another to speak and pray a blessing openly over. Know that it can change the trajectory of their life.
Stay healthy and have a blessed day!
