One Last Home

By Dean Burnetti on July 2, 2024

‭Hebrews 13:14 NLT‬ – For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come.

I must be looking awfully old these days. It seems every week, at least one person will ask me where I will go when I retire.

The longer I ponder this question the more I waste useful time. I am convinced that I will live as a wanderer. Never claiming just one place as home.

I have read of many a couple who, at the time of retirement, will sell their home, buy a motorhome, and ramble around the countryside. I'm not sure I want to be that mobile, but I could see myself spending a few months from one place to the next. There are just so many nice places to see, I just can't pick one to be the last.

When I read the verse for today, I thought it's not so bad to be a temporary resident in this world. For I know that I already have reserved a purchased and truly permanent house that is just for me and yet to come. And even better it will come fully furnished with the Love of God.

Stay healthy and have a blessed week!
