When it comes to spiritual connection, I look to nature.
Growing up, I was not coaxed toward any particular forms of religion. That freedom gave me plenty exposures to non-religious activities such as playing with kids in the neighborhood, mostly engaging in people interactions. As such, I became drawn toward humanity subjects and their symbiotic relationships with nature.
Why nature?
Human existence is deeply rooted in nature. Without it, we wouldn't be here. Nature not only sustains every aspect of our lives but also inspires us to search new height toward uncovering the linkage of our connection to it. Each achievement is traceable back to our environment. This connection, ultimately, fuels our quest for meaning.
For me, there is nothing more intimate collectively than our relation to nature.
However, as the saying goes, love and hate are two sides of the same coin. Our actions shape the environment in return. If we work with nature in symbiotic ways, it's possible to achieve a win-win sustainable outcome. Yet, like selfish people, we leave in our wake polluted oceans, mountains, and skies.
Isn't it time to invest more in nature before we lose it irreversibly, a lose-lose scenario?
