Mountain Top Provision; Just Say Yes, My Life Is Yours
Genesis 22:6-18 NKJV
[6] So Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife, and the two of them went together. [7] But Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, "My father!" And he said, "Here I am, my son." Then he said, "Look, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?" [8] And Abraham said, "My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering." So the two of them went together. [9] Then they came to the place of which God had told him. And Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order; and he bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood. [10] And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. [11] But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, "Abraham, Abraham!" So he said, "Here I am." [12] And He said, "Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me." [13] Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son. [14] And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, "In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided." [15] Then the Angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time out of heaven, [16] and said: "By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son—[17] blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. [18] In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice."
This morning in the wee hours God prompts me back to the mountain top. Where He alone makes provision. Honestly as a Nigeria I'm in pain and bothered about the coming hours but I know that God is on the throne. I have been fascinated about numerology and the sequences of how messages are entwined in the Holy Writ. 6 is the number for and the mark of man and 7 is for rest. Now, 8 is for new beginnings yet as I read this passage I ask why on a mountain. It's on a mountain that Moses got his call to save Israel the sons and descendants of Abraham.
A nation in peril and in the turns of life is what I'm looking at. I am not even sure where the next meal would come from as it's hard season but here I am being led to the mountain of provision. Abraham set the pace for his miracle when he answered his son Isaac. What a laugh and the irony that his life was about to be snuffed out yet he trusted his father's judgement as his father trusted God to truly take over. In the multitude and mountain of decisions we are indeed at crossroads as a people but it's on the mountain that God makes provision.

I ask what is that mountain that we must surpass today? For the married one that extramarital affair, or perhaps a total lack of finances and the uncertainties that hunger brings. Perhaps it's the loss of a job. For the singles an uncertain future and disper all around but it's at the mountain to that like the music crooning in my ear now reminds me that I will just say Yes and allow God lead the way as I'm not afraid to say that this life God gave us not my own. So I trust you Lord and state I will just say Yes! My life is yours! As the hours count down into the first of August I am expectant of a huge visitation by God.
In fact I hear, Mountain Top Provision; Just Say Yes, My Life Is Yours. August brings a freshness that comes with the pain of birth pains. Ah it's not a premature baby being birthed before time but a rebirth of a new beginning a significant plan of God wherein the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit are entwined to take over and recover a people who have lost their way. God is in the business of making provision. It was not a sheep or goat that was stuck in that bush but a Ram! A ram is Biblically a symbol of wisdom and discernment. It's also the protector of the heard and defender of same.
Jesus is the defender and protector of the saints and He is on this mountain, making provision and causing a flood of healing in the land. It is perhaps the very first time that a people would attempt to be united and say Yes to change but not on religious or tribal lines but on the ideological lines that everyone has a right to live and to eat without fear. The walls that hold are breaking but as Abraham told Isaac I say Yes Lord my life is yours and I judge you faithful to make room and provision for all who trust you and obey. Indeed there is an answer with no more delays as Brian Courtney sang. Jesus was that ram the wise discerning one that was cut of for Isaac and indeed Israel to be birthed. So what is that mountain you're facing this day or in the month of August? God isaking room for you and provision even in the turmoils we face. Just trust God with your Yes! Let Him lead on! This people will name Him Lord indeed and say Yes Lord! My life is Yours in the mighty name of Jesus Amen and Amen! Welcome to the month of August and the August visitation of the one provider Himself! Shalom
