Matthew 23:12 KJV — And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
Humility is valuable.
James 4:10 KJV — Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
It opens one's understanding of God and surrenders to His blessings.
When one puts aside pride, silences self, the logic is without argument.
God deserves to be in charge; He's God.
The Sovereign Creator of the universe, who knows all things, is just, righteous, faithful, and loving, should be the One who leads, guides, and instructs.
Not only that, He is the Savior of the world through His humility to take on flesh, live among us, and allow Himself to be crucified to pay our debt, He then rose again, of His own will, because death had no power over Him.
He taught people who He was and how people should respond to Him, then He returned to Heaven that His Spirit might reside in the hearts of those who believe and follow.
What can anyone give compared to all that?
Only one thing.
Philippians 1:21 KJV
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Themselves.
Which is where humility comes in.
Proverbs 22:4 KJV — By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank You for Your Word. Thank You for Your direction and incredible patience. Lord Jesus, You see every heart and You know the foolish pride of mankind, how we boast and brag of our abilities or our possessions or, worse yet, our piety. Lord, only through true humility can we find all that we require. Through submission to You and Your ways we find redemption and through that we gain peace, love, joy, patience, faith, and self-control. The priceless treasures of integrity, discernment, and truth come when we humble ourselves before You. Thank You! What an awesome God You are and how blessed I am to be Your servant and fellow citizen of the kingdom of God! Thank You, Jesus. Amen.
