Thus far, only excuses and denials I can see. With the Democratic National Convention less than 6 weeks away (19 -22 Aug), this burning topic will only get hotter. Why would Biden believe that not only he can defeat Trump but, more importantly, govern the country for a second term? Paradoxically, the question has become: who would destroy our democracy, Biden or Trump? It reminds me of the classic tale of The Emperor's New Clothes. Is it the intoxicating elixir of power that blinds politicians' self-ego? American people saw Biden on stage on 27 Jun. No amount of spin can change this reality. Not to mention, as public servants, politicians have an obligation and responsibility to their people. And when they lose sight of that, it's time for them to go.
