No real spoilers, some mentions of companions in Baldur's Gate 2
Butch:
Last night was one of those nights where you have big plans and then stuff happens.
I was GOING to give someone money. I was. But first I wanted to help this kid which led to the conclusion of a story arc, then I decided to explore the docks first and Jaheira got cursed so I had to save her life because she's cute I mean she's a good party member, that took me back to the slums where Mazzy picked a fight with an ogre….
Hang in there, Imoen.
Feminina:
Yeah, my Mazzy has also challenged an ogre to a duel, but then I swapped her back for Minsc before she could fight it. Now I have her again, but we're trying to make sure an ancient evil doesn't escape, so… we'll get to it eventually.
I fought shadows and ghosts and things. Got some good loot, which of course makes me suspicious since we have levels of dungeon yet to explore and it's never a good sign when they feel the need to buff you up before you meet something.
Butch:
Ha! "Oh no! Loot and healing!"
An ancient evil? I keep just helping young lovers. And saving Jaheira.
Nothing says "let's make out" like "I saved you from a deadly curse."
Loothound:
I'll have to keep my eyes open for that ogre. Maybe defeating a giant three times her size will put HER in the mood to make out.
Butch:
Usually works for Mrs. McP.
You know, kidding aside, the more I think on this the more I think it's there to simulate actual table top D&D. We've all been there. Everyone in the party is focused on a quest, on a story line, even an important time sensitive story line (cuz MAN Jaheira was cursed) and there's that ONE PLAYER who's like "No! I'm offended by that ogre! I am going to be obsessed with it and totally derail everyone else!"
I could feel myself and the people playing the other party members be all "Man, shit. OK, fine. Whatever. We're gonna go pick up the pizza. Be done by the time we get back, OK?"
Feminina:
She IS lawful good, and people who want to play that to its logical conclusions sometimes do cause irritations for the rest of the party.
"Fine, we'll follow your sense of justice."
She never objects when Hexxat picks locks, at least.
Butch:
Ooo I was going to ask you that. I want to take Hexxat to see the vampire (despite this meaning I'll have to take a break from the gnome), but I was worried Mazzy would bolt. She won't bolt?
Feminina:
I don't know, Mazzy wasn't with me when I talked to the vampire. Everyone else was pretty freaked out, but they only left when I sided with her (which, after dying from a trap shortly after, I decided not to do again).
Butch:
Dude, you almost sided with the VAMPIRE??
Interesting. (As Butch ponders shit he knows cuz he's played this).
We shall never know. I don't want to lose everyone in my party.
