I moved away from the house my dad sold.
He bought a log cabin
and then my life just happened,
there and beyond.
From Texas to Brazil and
Thailand to Oman;
cities far across the big blue pond.
I had nothing to expect
for living it all new
was exactly what it was
and that is how I grew.
Into 20s, into 30
I had reached a certain place
of culture and distinction
that I never could misplace.
I'm the same kind of kid
with the same kind of smile
I understand this now
but it kind of took awhile.
I know what I didn't
and seen what I did
and I'll continue learning
