HMRC has issued an apology to those claiming Child benefit who have experienced a delay to their due payments which should have been made on Monday 3rd June 2024.
They state that they "are very sorry that some customers did not receive their scheduled Child Benefit payments as expected and we understand the concern and difficulty this may have caused"
The issues causing delay has now been fixed and HMRC indicate that they are putting measures in place to prevent this from happening again.
Those affected will now receive their Child Benefit payments on Wednesday 5th June 2024.
Anyone who has incurred a direct financial loss because of the delayed payment can apply for compensation by completing the HMRC online complaints form:
