Matthew 4:23-24 CSB – [23] Now Jesus began to go all over Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. [24] Then the news about him spread throughout Syria. So they brought to him all those who were afflicted, those suffering from various diseases and intense pains, the demon-possessed, the epileptics, and the paralytics. And he healed them.
God has plans for each of us. The problem is we so often fail to embrace and seek the plan that He has for us. We miss the mark. We think that our routine is what our routine has always been. For example, to get up and go to work on Monday, take off on Saturday, and go to church on Sunday. It's what we call our routine. Sounds really good, but the problem so often is that it takes us down a path that misses all that God has for us.
Even during Jesus's ministry, we see that, at different times and places, Christ deviated from a routine. He would disappear for periods of time when even His disciples didn't know where he was. He would withdraw and do ministry that we don't even know of. He would withdraw Himself to spend time in prayer and worship without any particular routine. It just was when it needed to happen and as the Spirit of God led.
One thing I've come to understand is that being led by the Spirit is not necessarily a routine that is the same each day. It's one that causes us to have to let go and let the Holy Spirit guide us. Possibly a little bit differently each day.

Christ didn't have a certain time of the day that He healed the sick. He did not have a certain hour when He would spend His time in prayer and worship. He would sometimes withdraw Himself for long periods of time to do the Father's will. That's called freedom in the Spirit, and it's the example that Jesus set for us.
Many of us would think such a lack of routine in our own lives as being irresponsible because we need to keep our schedule. It's called discipline. But truth be told, there is no schedule on the journey as we follow Christ. The guidance of the Holy Spirit is without a schedule. It is freedom, and it takes place each day in a direction to heal, to spread the Gospel, to worship and to pray. God has plans for us, and they are on the move.
Today, free yourself from the bondage of your routine and be spontaneous in the Spirit.
Stay healthy and have a blessed day!
