Luke 10:19-20 NLT – [19] Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. [20] But don't rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven."
Here, we read about Jesus sending out 72 people, just as He had sent His disciples, with the instruction of spreading the Word and preparing the way for the Lord. They were given power to trample on snakes and scorpions, and over the power of the enemy. Jesus told them that nothing at all would harm them.
That must have been an amazing experience to not only spread the Gospel, but to work with the power of the Holy Spirit to do great and wonderful things in the name of the Lord. I'm sure they rejoiced and were ecstatic in their experiences when they returned back to Christ.
But I couldn't help but pay very special attention to the Lord's statement to them. "Don't rejoice just because the spirit submits to you. But rejoice that your names are written in Heaven."

Even when God is doing such great things in our life, we can get caught up in the moments without focusing on the reason of why we walk in His steps. Why we talk in His Word. While we live a life of victory. We don't do it because we're possessed with such great power. We do so because our name has been written in the Lamb's Book of Life. And those names are written in Heaven.
Today, praise God when great things happen to you and the Spirit empowers. But don't lose focus of that which is the very core of why we rejoice. Because our names are written in Heaven.
Stay healthy and have a blessed week!
