They can't get their own way so they throw a fit hoping to manipulate us. We are not impressed by the behavior, and in some instances might even feel somewhat embarrassed by it. In my household, when my sons threw a fit, whatever it was they were after was absolutely NOT going to happen. Cross that line and the paddle was coming off the nail on the cellar wall. God is exactly the same with us. When our flesh and emotions rule, our forward momentum in Him ends, and the discipline begins. This is why Proverbs 26:3 says, "A whip is for the horse, a bridle for the donkey, And a rod for the back of fools." When we behave like foolish children, we set ourselves up to be dealt with by God and man. In the end He will get our attention and hopefully we will learned a very hard lesson. Today's Word: Before you do the wrong thing, take a moment to consider the discipline that might be coming your way. | | | |
