Job 31:4 Thoughts: The NLT version puts this verse in the form of a question "Doesn't he see everything I do and every step I take?" Application: If God sees everything I do, and He does, and every step that I take, He really knows me. I can't help but think of how He must cringe at times when I take the wrong choice. Similar to how we try to protect our kids when they are learning to walk. At times they may fall. Our reaction is tense as they take those first steps, willing them not to fall. We know what they face, just as God knows what we face. It is no wonder that there are so many scriptures about God leading us. A derivative of lead is mentioned over 806 times in the Bible. There are nineteen verses just in Psalms according to the NLT version that talk of how He leads us. God leads us by the hand because he knows where we should step. - Psalm 1:6 For the Lord watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.
- Psalm 5:8 Lead me in the right path, O Lord, or my enemies will conquer me. Make your way plain for me to follow.
- Psalm 15:2 Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts.
- Psalm 23:2 He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams.
- Psalm 25:5 Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.
- Psalm 25:9 He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way.
- Psalm 25:10 The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands.
- Psalm 27:11 Teach me how to live, O Lord. Lead me along the right path, for my enemies are waiting for me.
- Psalm 28:9 Save your people! Bless Israel, your special possession. Lead them like a shepherd, and carry them in your arms forever.
- Psalm 31:3 You are my rock and my fortress. For the honor of your name, lead me out of this danger.
- Psalm 37:8 Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper— it only leads to harm.
- Psalm 43:3 Send out your light and your truth; let them guide me. Let them lead me to your holy mountain, to the place where you live.
- Psalm 44:9 But now you have tossed us aside in dishonor. You no longer lead our armies to battle.
- Psalm 61:2 From the ends of the earth, I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety,
- Psalm 73:24 You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny.
- Psalm 101:2 I will be careful to live a blameless life— when will you come to help me? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home.
- Psalm 118:20 These gates lead to the presence of the Lord, and the godly enter there.
- Psalm 139:24 Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
- Psalm 143:10 Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing.
In my independence, I am refusing to allow God to lead me. He is having to sit back and be the anxious parent as I try to walk on my own. He knows where I am, everything I'm doing, every step I take. He loves me enough though, to let me take the steps. He knows that when I won't listen to the Great Teacher that pain must be my teacher. He leaves the choice up to me because His hand is always extended to lead me or grab me if I'm falling too far. What great patience He has as my Father. Reaction: Lord, thank You for keeping watch over me. Thank You for protecting me when I tried to do in my own way and for leading me when I allow. Help me to let You lead more often. I know You are not an anxious parent since You know everything, but I don't want to disappoint You. I don't want to make You cringe at my decisions. So lead me please, even despite my stubborn will. Thank You Lord. | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
