Luke 9:23-24 NLT – [23] Then he said to the crowd, "If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me. [24] If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.
Over and over in the gospels, we read of Jesus calling people to let go. Let go of 'what', is the question. Most of it is a thing of security that makes us feel as though we are safe. That may mean money to some. It may mean property to others. It may be a sense of safety to probably most of us.
Regardless, when confronted with Jesus's command to "follow me", almost everyone is sidetracked by something on a daily basis. And that something is what they are hanging on to that gives them that sense of security and safety in their life. Without it, they would feel helpless and alone. Fear prevents them from letting go.

Notice that Jesus said to follow Him daily. To take up your cross daily. That if you hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give that life to Him, it will possibly take you in a completely different direction, but you will gain so much more.
This is repeated in example after example through the gospels. And it's still goes on today.
Now is the time to ask yourself, "What am I holding on to? And have I given all that I am and ever will be to Christ?" It is only then that you can follow daily and save yourself for the most amazing experience in life. Namely, to walk by the side of Christ, being filled in the Spirit to a New Life.
Today, let God give you a vision as you let go of that which is your security blanket. Whatever it may be, give it all to Him. The hardest part is to recognize God's vision for you is perfect for you. How awesome is that!
Stay healthy and have a blessed day!
