God's healing power when I was young. I recall one of the first times that I reach out, asked God for healing my sick body. I was in the fifth grade and woke up feeling sick. This day was very important to me because it was the day for band try outs.
I would be placed in 1st, 2nd or 3rd part playing the trumpet. I loved playing the 1st part and we were told that if we missed the try outs, we would automatically be placed in the last part, last chair.
When I woke up, I was sick to my stomach. I went to my mother and asked her to pray for me. I have seen many times God heal family and friends when my mother prayed and new, she had great faith. This was one of those days that
I expected God to heal me when Mom prayed.
When I asked Mom to pray, she looked over at me and said, "Paul, I know God would heal you if I asked Him, but there comes a time when you need to have faith for yourself,
ask and expect God to heal you when you ask in faith.
He will do just that. Now, I want you to eat some breakfast and go to school believing God will heal you."
After eating some breakfast, I picked up my horn case and proceeded to the bus stop on the corner of the block. I felt sick as I was walking. I told God that it was important that
I be at the try outs today and asked Him to heal me.
I thanked Him for hearing my prayer and proceeded to step onto the bus.
Because I was feeling sick, I decided to sit in the back roll. As I sat down in the seat I was instantly healed. I was excited and thanked God for the healing.
I was completely well from that moment on and at the end of the day, I made first chair in the tryout. I was so excited. God not only healed me, but I made 1st chair. All praise be to God! He is faithful to fulfill His promises. We can and will overcome sickness when we place our trust in Christ.
