Every business needs customers, awareness, and an entrepreneur driven to convert into revenue through activity.
Social media platforms offer great tools for persons entering business with a small budget. You can get your message out to the public and in front of your present and future customers without breaking the bank and some creative strategic actions. There is Linkedin, Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, YouTube, WhatsApp, Threads, and more to choose from. The one thing required is spending time developing your plan for action.
One of the things I've discovered over the years is you can do almost everything if willing to try and step out into the 'University of youtube & Google'. The one thing you do need to have is an open mind, ability to read and ask questions and desire to connect with others on this journey!
As I speak with folks who have started their business journey, breaking the idea of perfectionism comes before trying based on perception that it has to be perfect to get desired results from social media. Therefore the subjectivity of perfection has become a thorn in my side, that requires breaking some beliefs that hold back client/customer relationships with entrepreneurs.
Here are some of the beliefs that have to be challenged;
- If a glossy professional media is created and posted online, everyone will come running and buy whatever is offered...
- Good marketing is about making a post, sharing with network and it will go viral, and bring in money...
- There is no time to learn how social media works, everyone is doing it so its easy, just pay someone to create and post and you can get customers...
- Don't have the time to read anyone's posts and interact with them because not interested in others...
- Research is not needed - just post and boost...
- Just use AI and you will gain customers...
The above are a few that are shared with me regularly.
How can we fix the challenges when someone is not interested in spending time on their business? Does strategy help without time and a strategy? Developing your business strategy sets a plan in place with actions and activities that can measure results, fixing, improving and capitalizing on information and improvement on the way towards your goals.
There are 'no quick fixes and ramen soup remedies' to developing a customer base. Everything can work together for good - if its built with strategy - that focuses on your market opportunities and activites. Over the years I've found that what I know needs updating, revising and changing based on the dynamic nature of business. What worked before may not right now, and technology and changes impact on consumer responses to what's being offered.

Go out there and prove your worth. Show your value and how it can be valuable in creating solutions for customers/clients. Be the choice, because you've made your customers (present & future) your priority!
