A Look At Our Week
We've kicked the busy up a notch around the holler this week. Lots to do in preparation for our big party this weekend! Everyone has their list of chores and is working at their own pace on completing their tasks. I'm feeling good about my prep process and am not feeling the push and stress of having to get a lot done in a short amount of time.
What's for Dinner?
Well, we live in the South so that means we must have ham for Easter dinner. I really hadn't planned a special meal and at the last minute threw together a festive meal including ham steaks, macaroni & cheese, green beans and deviled eggs. We had a laugh at dinner looking at Bro's plate. I said he looked like Fred Flintstone getting ready to eat his brontosaurus burger. The plate was empty at the end of the meal so I guess it was good.
Busy Hand Busy Mind
I've managed to keep my sewing room guest ready while finishing up a few projects. My guy was impressed that I was still able to work in there with everything moved around. I've been finishing up an egg apron and several scrub caps. My niece wanted me to add little tags to the outside of the scrub caps like she has seen other caps with. I gotta keep up with the cool kids so I've embroidered some tags and am happy with how they've turned out. Crafty Girlfriends is a little too long so Crafty D it is!
My guy has been busy working on his list as well. He's been enjoying the beautiful weather and getting lots of outside work done. The cold front timed itself perfectly to arrive just in time for our party. We both took a day away from our own to do lists and went over and helped Cutler and his girlfriend work on digging up some old rose bushes in their front yard. His yard is looking better but we still have more work that needs to be done.
Traveling Times
We visited Knoxville last weekend for a special release of one of my guy's favorite beers. It's made by Xul Beer Company based in Knoxville. The original beer is PB&J Mix Tape. This one is made with a grape jelly and is referred to as "The OG". They released this one along with 3 other variants, strawberry, blackberry and raspberry. My sister and her family met us there to join in on all the fun. As part of the release they were selling 4 pack cans of each flavor as well as everything on draft. The line for the beers "togo" wrapped around the block. We arrived one hour before the brewery opened and got in the end of the line. Within the next hour the line continued to grow! We stood in line for about 2.5 hours before we made it to the front and were able to purchase our beer. After loading up the car we visited the brewery and he was able to taste each flavor. He insists that it doesn't taste like beer at all, just like a peanut butter & jelly sandwich. I admit it smells like pb&j but I've tasted many others that do indeed taste like beer, bleh. But I did enjoy the food trucks! My guy is stocked up for awhile! (Full disclosure: most of this will be shared with Ohio family since they are not able to get it there)

Visitors Welcome
Our first round of visitors have arrived. It's officially almost party time! My guy's sister, her husband and their stepmother arrived Wednesday evening. They have rented an Air BnB in town so we had dinner here and enjoyed catching up. Our next guests arrived Thursday afternoon (my guy's bestie and his wife, her first holler visit!) We all enjoyed dinner out at a local Italian restaurant.
Sappy Selfies
Have a great week! XOXO
