Happy Easter everyone ✝️ He is Alive
Easter is a significant holiday in the Christian faith, as it commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. The true Christian meaning of Easter lies in the belief that Jesus, the Son of God, was crucified, died, and rose again on the third day, conquering sin and death. This event is the cornerstone of the Christian faith, as it symbolizes the victory over sin and the promise of eternal life for all who believe in Jesus Christ.
The Bible provides us with the accounts of Jesus' death and resurrection in the four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. I will focus on the Gospel of Matthew for this lesson on Easter.
Bible Passage: Matthew 28:1-10 (NIV)
"1 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.
3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.
4 The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
5 The angel said to the women, 'Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you.'
8 So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
9 Suddenly Jesus met them. 'Greetings,' he said. They came to him, clasped his feet, and worshiped him.
10 Then Jesus said to them, 'Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.'"
This passage from the Gospel of Matthew depicts the moment when Jesus' followers discover the empty tomb and the angel proclaiming his resurrection. It is a powerful reminder of the miraculous event that changed the course of human history.
The resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday serves as a fulfillment of the prophecies in the Old Testament and validates Jesus' teaching and claims of being the Son of God. Through his death and resurrection, Jesus offers forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with God to all who believe in him.
As Christians, the true meaning of Easter goes beyond Easter bunnies and chocolate eggs. It is a time to remember and celebrate the hope and redemption we have in Jesus Christ. It is a reminder of God's love for humanity and the promise of eternal life through faith in Jesus.
May this Easter season be a time of reflection, gratitude, and renewed faith in the resurrected Savior, Jesus Christ.
Remember the true meaning of Easter, it's about the resurrection of Jesus Christ and not about rabbits who supposedly lay eggs.ππ€✝️ ππΎ
