Matthew 20:28 – "Be like the Son of Man. He did not come to be served. Instead, he came to serve others. He came to give his life as the price for setting many people free."
Yesterday, one of my grandsons turned to me and said, "You know, I'm just like you."
My reply was, "I know."
Many of us in childhood have been attracted to someone else who we want to pattern ourselves after. I think for many of us, it was just a natural thing to do.
As a young attorney, I was pulled aside by a very wise doctor friend. He told me the very best way to ensure my success was to pick a very successful attorney and then pattern myself after that person. It seemed like good advice. Almost too simple. But it was advice that I took to heart and followed. I believe that it served me well.
As Believers, we are given the same advice. Christ Himself instructed each of us to be like the Son of man. To be like Him. It is probably some of the most simple, straightforward, advice in a scripture that will ensure your success.
Today, listen to what Christ tells you. Be like Him. It's the best advice you will hear today.
