With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, Ephesians 6:18
We are called as believers to pray at all times after we equip ourselves with the full armor of God. Games a little redundant in this scripture with prayer and petition and pray. Each of them are different words in the Greek language.
Prayer Strong's G4335 - proseuchē a house devoted to the offering of prayer to God
Petitions Strong's G1162 - deēsis a seeking, asking, entreating, entreaty (supplication for others)
Pray - Strong's G4336 - proseuchomai to offer prayers, to pray
Spirit - Strong's G4151 - pneuma in the power of the Spirit, possessed and moved by the Spirit,
So we are to devote our body to prayer to God, making supplication for others as moved by and in the power of Holy Spirit and persevere. So often I've put on the armor of God and thought I was the one in the battle. Or I have prayed in my own power. True power is when we are armored up and ready to pray in power of Holy Spirit. That alone is how we are victorious.
Lord, help me to stand armored up in the power of Holy Spirit in prayer. You know the things on my heart the scan, the marriages, the surgery, the finances. Help me to pray in Your power.
