I am creatively writing again (see below). I feel good to have my brain occupied in this. My November tale was based around a (imagined) chance, brief, encounter, with RM from BTS in London. My current tale started with the thought of coping in a completely different life situation (eg Korean pop idols doing military service, or a stay at home Mum having to work, yeah - slightly different!) but it has evolved massively from early thoughts of estranged families and searching back into the past. It's involving BTS too, and below I'm storing lots of links. I know Dark and Wild is pre MOTS era, but the intro & outro fit the way the tale is going, looking into MOTS has come more from a personal thought. Also: Dark and Wild remains my favourite BTS album. It shifts from angry boys to aware young men, but it still loves Hip Hop (Bangtan is hip hop) and they love young girls, in a unique Korean way (see below) - Memories, Dreams, Reflections, and I know it had grief, but - boys?
나도 열여덟 알 건 다 알어
I'm eighteen, I know everything I'm supposed to know
여자가 세계 최고란 것 말이여
that women are the best in the world
Yes I'm a bad boy so i like bad girl
일루 와 봐 baby 우린 잘될걸
Come here, baby, we'll make a good couple
War of Hormone https://doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com/2019/01/19/war-of-hormone/
Last spring I explored the BTTS HYYH series, looking into Inception, Nirvana etc (and buying a stack of second hand CDs for the photo books) That was fairly light weight compared to exploring Love Yourself and Map of The Soul. "Memories, Dreams, Reflections" seems right up my street (These Memories which are my life, Evelyn Waugh) - Carl Jung https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memories,_Dreams,_Reflections Obviously this isn't the first time I have looked into Jung, since finding BTS, but it's my deepest dive. I am also very interested because Epik High were mapping the soul first. I acttually started with Hermann Hesse via RM. Hey Namjoon & Tablo, can we meet for drinks and a chat?
Having watched the Disney+ documentary https://www.disneyplus.com/en-gb/series/bts-monuments-beyond-the-star/3ItPowcufUqR SPOILER ALERT - Map of The Soul 7 was going to be the finale before military service, but the global pandemic came, and shifted all that. So looking at those songs - On, Outro Ego... There is a different message, these are goodbye songs. I need tto go back to reading translations... (I got as far as 'You'll Never Walk Alone")
