Everyone's got some of these downtimes in life, irrespective of social standing, financial status, fame and so on. Those times when you are surrounded by people, yet feel lonely. Those times when you wonder 'why exactly am I existing?' Not necessarily that you are worse off than everyone else but nothing seems to be working out according to your expectations and that of those around you for yourself. Then you feel you are not meeting up to standard or the ideal of who you ought to be.
When depression sets in, you begin to find relief in anything that takes your mind away. Addiction sets in things like food, movies, alcohol, drugs…just anything to distract you. But the end product of these addictions only complicate issues further. Some may go as far as having suicidal thoughts or actually committing suicide.
That's when you take to heart people's nasty or insensitive comments as hurtful. 'Why are you not successful like Bernhard? He just got his wife a Prado Jeep.' 'Your mates are busy making babies you are here eating all the food and getting fat'. 'Those getting married do they have two heads?' 'The people with 3rd class are getting employed you are here saying there's no job.' People will always talk, not that they don't have issues of their own but you need to come to a place where you can take criticisms to work in your favor.
Despite all these, there's something you need to understand about down times. Those are the times when you need to bring out the hidden good qualities in you. The morale is usually so high that anything you decide to do comes from a place of passion and ends up beautifully.
The best songs have been composed in down times. Ever wondered why songs about heartbreak sounds more soulful? The best hymns are not excluded. Let your down times bring out that passion that propel you to being the best you can.
