This morning a snowstorm was raging when I opened my eyes. Outside of my windows, snow was coming down in chunks fast and furious. Oh boy, I'm going to be buried under at this rate, I remembered thinking to myself. Better check the pantry to see if I have enough food in stock.
Then all of a sudden, the snow stopped right before noon. In early afternoon, the sun came out. With temperature hovering 40 degree (Fahrenheit), all the snow was gone. The wind continued to holler, but no trace of snow as far as my eyes could see. As if the snowstorm never happened, it was like magic or a pop-quiz.
In any events, Washington DC was lucky compared to other parts of the northeast. Once again, the District dodged another storm. Either way, refusing to be "fooled," I went ahead with my hot chocolate to commemorate the occasion. For next time, we may not be as lucky.
How are you staying warm?
