Today is Groundhog Day. Which means it will be six more weeks of winter (or summer in the Southern Hemisphere) if the Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow. Which has been the case if history is any guide.
Call it a superstition, ritual, or tradition, today is the mid point (from winter solstice) of the 12 week period. Phil provides us a diversion from the cold, signaling that we are half way through the season, and wintering just a bit longer.
Season comes and goes. But we evolve through these periods. Each time, the change offers learning and growing opportunities rather than just repeated experiences. So enjoy the fresher air, the clear sunset, and get ready for 6 more weeks of winter.
